Guided tour through traditional local plantations and wine cellars: Taste Tenerife.

Description

On this excursion through the south of the island you will discover the most authentic flavours of the island of Tenerife and its admired and renowned wines.

We will start our day with a visit to a banana plantation:  Finca Las Margaritas.  There you will learn about the cultivation of our star fruit, the banana. You will be taken on a tour of the farm where they will explain how bananas were grown in the past, how gofio is obtained, and you will try a tasting of products made from bananas, gofio and palm honey, as well as other tropical fruits.

Our second stop will be at one of the most renowned  wineries  on the island: Mencey de Chasna. We will take a guided tour of the winery, and you will learn all about the  winemaking  process. At the end of the visit we will have a wine tasting.

We will continue our tour enjoying the marvellous views offered by the mountain road towards Vilaflor and we will arrive at the  Lagar de Chasna winery,  where we will have a  wine tasting  during a delicious  lunch  in which you will delight yourself with the best of the Canarian gastronomy.

Finally, we will finish our excursion at an  aloe vera farm in Arona,  where we will visit its ecological plantations and discover how the natural gel of this plant with high medicinal properties is cultivated and obtained.
